The box you have found contains an instrument launched from Huntsville, Alabama as part of an atmospheric study of ozone concentrations by the Atmsopheric Science Department at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
The package is NOT dangerous. It belongs to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Department of Commerce.
There is a reward for the return of the sondes. The reward information is printed on a sheet attached to the white box containing the instrument.
